Jenny and Anthony's new bathroom layout

Professional couple, Jenny (www.seasonsincolour.com) & Anthony wanted to change everything in their ensuite and family bathrooms. They both wanted a new bathroom layout to make the space feel lighter, and a timeless design that would add long term value to the property. They wanted the focus to be on attention to detail and the 'little touches' of luxury.

Some of the factors they considered when choosing the products that were going in, were:

  • Quality of manufacturing and craftsmanship.
  • Warranties
  • Company profile.
Bathroom Design in black

Both bathrooms were designed by Jenny along with Melinda Kiss, creative director at Keyhole Interiors.

Design schemes: a strong but not overwhelming look was required.

Result: : these bathrooms were all about contrast. The contrast of the marble and wood effect tiles creates a really calm scheme which is elevated by the matte black tapware and shower fittings. When it came to selecting the brassware Kiss explains that it had to be black. 'Black taps continue to be really big in bathrooms,’ she confirms. ‘They feel modern and edgy. The Methven single-lever wall-hung basin mixer from Methven gives the finish that you would expect in a boutique hotel. It’s very on trend.’ To continue the contemporary look, a three outlet shower valve was used to an overhead shower, hand shower and bath fill. ‘I was keen to have a lean look with nothing on the bath rim,’ adds Jenny. ‘So the bath filler was a great addition. It takes the same time to fill the bath and is so easy to clean.'
