This policy together with our website terms and conditions and cookie policy set out how we collect personal information from you and how the personal information you provide will be processed by us. We will continue to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation ((EU) 2016/679) ( ‘GDPR’) unless and until the GDPR is no longer directly applicable in the UK, together with any national implementing laws, regulations and secondary legislation, as amended or updated from time to time, in the UK including the Data Protection Act 2018 (‘DPA’) and any successor legislation to the GDPR and the DPA ( ‘Data Protection Legislation’).

Introduction

Methven UK Limited (“Methven”, "we", “us”, “our” and “ours”) is a company registered in England and Wales (company registration no. 06290166) whose registered office is at 2 New Bailey, 6 Stanley Street, Salford, M3 5GS.

For the purpose of the Data Protection Legislation and this policy, Methven is the data controller. This means that we are responsible for deciding how we hold and use personal data about you. We are required under the Data Protection Legislation to notify you of the information contained in this privacy policy.

When would we collect personal data about you

  • information such as products viewed and searched for, the average time on the website, top visited pages and page response times. This is statistical data about browsing actions and patterns and does not identify you as an individual.

  • To process your orders and carry out our obligations arising from the contract between you and us to provide you with the products and services you request from us;

  • Business partners, suppliers and sub-contractors: for the performance of any contract we enter into with you;
  • Members of our group, including our subsidiaries, our ultimate holding company and its subsidiaries: as certain processing functions within the group are centralised;
  • Trusted third parties: In order to provide certain services, we will share your personal data with third party service providers such as IT infrastructure companies, Analytics and search engine providers and email logistics providers, that assist us in the maintenance, improvement and optimisation of our website. Where we store your personal data

The data that we collect from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside the European Economic Area ("EEA"). It may also be processed by staff operating outside the EEA who work for one of our group companies or for one of our suppliers. Such staff may be engaged in, among other things, the fulfilment of your order, the processing of your payment details and the provision of support services. Methven may transfer personal data to its head office located in New Zealand with company name Methven Limited and registered company address at 41 Jomac Place, Avondale, Auckland 1026, New Zealand. The European Commission has made a finding of adequacy in respect of transfers of personal data to New Zealand and the transfer is conducted on that basis.

We have put in place all steps reasonably necessary and appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed. In addition, we limit access to your personal data to those employees, agents, contractors and other third parties who have a business need to know. They will only process your personal data on our instructions and they are subject to a duty of confidentiality.

We have put in place procedures to deal with any suspected data security breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a suspected breach where we are legally required to do so.

Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access certain parts of our website, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share a password with anyone.

How long we hold your personal data
